Tree, Bench, and Brick Programs

The Friends’ Commemorative Tree & Bench Program allows groups and individuals to donate trees and benches to honor or commemorate friends or loved ones as well as commemorate special events. Trees and benches purchased through the program are planted or placed in a scenic location at one of the Metro Parks.

Your gift will be a wonderful remembrance or commemoration of a special occasion that adds beauty to the natural environment. It is also a valuable contribution to the Metro Parks system utilized by people of all ages and abilities.

A donation period will last 20 years for the bench and the lifetime of the tree. The bench donation includes a commemorative plaque and installation at approved sites in the order requests are received. For the trees, a commemorative plaque will be located at the specific park’s nature center or easily accessible common area. A comprehensive list of native trees can be found at www.metroparks.net/trees

The cost for each tree planted is $500 and for each bench installed is $1,500. These donations qualify as a charitable contribution tax deduction.

Due to the popularity of our Tree and Bench Program, there are many parks where we are no longer able to place Trees or Benches. Some parks have opted to try out our Memorial Brick program as well. Memorial Bricks can be placed at Blacklick Woods, Sharon Woods, Blacklick Woods Golf Course, Scioto Audubon, Highbanks, and Blendon Woods. Memorial bricks are $250 each.
